Current Research In Crop And Soil Science

Plagiarism checking policy:

Current Research in Crop and Soil Science  maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism to uphold academic integrity and research ethics. The journal ensures originality and authenticity in all published works through the following measures:

  1. Mandatory Plagiarism Screening
  • All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism detection using Turnitin software.
  • Similarity reports are generated for every submission before the peer-review process.
  1. Acceptable Similarity Threshold
  • The journal recommends a similarity index below 15–20%, excluding references, tables, and standard methodological text.
  • Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable limit will be returned to authors for revision or rejected outright.
  1. Types of Plagiarism Considered Unacceptable

CRCSS strictly prohibits:

  • Direct plagiarism (copying text verbatim without citation)
  • Self-plagiarism (reusing previously published work without disclosure)
  • Mosaic plagiarism (paraphrasing too closely from another source)
  • Image/data plagiarism (using figures, tables, or data without permission or citation)
  • Duplicate publication (submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals)
  1. Author Responsibility
  • Authors must ensure that all content—including text, figures, images, and data—is original.
  • Proper citations and permissions must be obtained for reproduced materials.
  • Authors must declare any prior publication of parts of the manuscript.
  1. Editorial Action on Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected at any stage:

  • Before review: Manuscript will be rejected.
  • During review: Review will be stopped, and authors will be notified.
  • After publication: The article may be retracted, and a formal notice will be issued.
  1. Ethical Compliance
  • CRCSS follows international ethical guidelines recommended by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) for handling plagiarism and misconduct.
  • Repeated offenses may lead to barring authors from future submissions.
  1. Transparency With Authors
  • The similarity report may be shared with authors for necessary corrections.
  • Authors are encouraged to check their manuscripts through plagiarism software before submission.
